Macsyma is a symbolic manipulation package that has been available on "big" computers for about 6 years or so, and could fall into the same category as Mathematica and Maple. Have you heard about Macsyma? Would you be interested enough in Macsyma to buy it if it were ported to your NeXT? A company called Paradigm is considering such a project, and is curious about the demand for such a port. Let me know if you would spend your money on Macsyma. Paradigm has been licensed by MIT to commercially distribute the original MIT Macsyma with the modifications that they own/develop.
