I recently aquired a second hand build of 2.0 extended for my machine (I'm still waiting on my 2.0 extended floppies...since Jan 23rd). The build was from a university machine and as such, had many things I didn't want (actually I wanted them, but I have very limited HD space). They had dwb loaded at /usr/local/dwb. My mistake was not looking at the i-node count of those files. Of course, they had linked them to /usr/ucb/nroff, etc...Of course not thinking to quickly, I removed the dwb. Now I can't access the manpages,etc... I would appreciate it if someone could mail me nroff, etc... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Matthew Huff (using Tim Burnetts' mail address) Internet: timbur@ccwf.cc.utexas.edu -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Sorry, but I don't think anyone is supposed to do that because it would violate the terms of their software licenses. You'll have to go get it yourself. > >-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- >Matthew Huff (using Tim Burnetts' mail address) >Internet: timbur@ccwf.cc.utexas.edu >-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Scott Bennett, Comm. Wouldn't it be true that since I have a binary license for 'nroff', and other NeXT users have binary license for 'nroff' that there would be no legal problem with someone sending me a binary copy? I could see problems with distributing source code without a license, but I'm just asking for the binaries. I thought that illegal duplication is the act of distributing software to someone that does not has a license to use it. I believe the Supreme Court ruled on that; i.e., you can copy software for archival purposes. I could go to my campus rep and get a copy from him. But that would require me to pack up my entire NeXT and take it down to the campus. What difference is there whether he copies it or someone from the net sends it to me? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Matthew Huff (using Tim Burnetts' mail address) Internet: timbur@ccwf.cc.utexas.edu -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
