As I understand it, the NeXT printer is a dumb printer that has all the hard work of converting a PS description into a bit image done by the NeXT machine itself. In theory there seems to be no reason why any bit-graphics printer couldn't be treated in just the same way. So has anyone done this? In particular has anyone persuaded an old HP Laser printer to hand from a NeXTslab??? [ My reading of the license does not see any problems with doing this as long as the printer is less than 900 dpi resolution - Oh if only I had a printer of that resolution....] Nigel. I will sumarise any email replies I get in about 10 days. I think this is probably net discussion material though - if I can find it in the huge volume of comp.sys.next. -- # Nigel Metheringham # EMail: nigelm@ohm.york.ac.uk # # System Administrator # Phone: +44 904 432374 # # Department of Electronics # Fax: +44 904 432335 # # University of York, Heslington, York, UK, YO1 5DD #
