What is involved to force the nextstation to caption? A deaf guy isn't in any luck when the cpu starts talking to him. Is the intro program (the one that moves the pointer around a comments on things) synthesized or is it a timed recording? Can anyone help me on this? Of course if it's synthesized, then getting at the text is a matter of hacking. Kenton

In the case of system alerts, such as the printer running out of paper, there is a preference within the Preferences application to turn on/off voice alerts. W/voice alerts off, the system pops a dialog box explaining what is going on (it does this normally as well, but there is a delay between voice -> dialog box). The guided tour is narrated w/digitized sound. b.bum b.bumgarner | Disclaimer: All opinions expressed are my own. wb1j+@andrew.cmu.edu | I officially don't represent anyone unless I NeXT Campus Consultant | explicity say I am doing so.
