You lucky guys. Speaking for Holland - no NeXTs in sight. People I know
are trying to become official dealers now for at least three quarters
of a year - they started before the Sept. 18th announcements.
For me it's not simply cheaper to fly to the States and buy a NeXT at
commercial prices - it's the only way. And I'm not gonna do it; I need
hardware support ... here and now.

Not to say "I told you so", or anything, but _this_ is why we are
supposed to give up the old keyboards for the new? I wonder -
which is the chicken and which is the egg?

Seriously, I guess I'll have to second (well, third or fourth) getting
NeXT into Europe. I've had quite a number of missives from people
in Europe wanting me to act as a connection between them and NeXT.
It saddens me that, for the most part, I have no more power over
this stuff than they do (No, really, NeXT doesn't listen to me,
and at this point, I don't listen to them too hard, either :-).
If we're going to have to work around various system stuff and
hardware stuff to support our friends across the Atlantic, let's
make sure that they can even get ahold of the stuff in the
first place.

From what I've seen, it's not even really a matter of educational
discount versus no discount - most people simply cannot get a new
NeXT via _any_ channel! Maybe NeXT has big amazing things in store
for us there, but I thought we already _had_ big amazing things in
store (didn't we?). Either way, it'd be nice to see them . . .
Then again, there have been more and more European posters lately.
Slow but sure wins the race (I hope! :-).

Later,
