Has anyone looked into the read and write block sizes used by NFS the Next? We are using a Sun4 as a boot server for some NextStations and the Sun is ocasionaly choking on 8k+ traffic with the Nexts. Are there NFS parameters that can be tuned on the Next? Has anyone else seen this? Thanx, Dave Rocks New Mexico State University

Trying this on the next causes stats of a mounted directory to fail. (this means that "ls /mntdir" returns no file list). this occurs even between two NeXTs as well...leaving it at the default causes the 386 to eventually choke on a big block, passing the error "nfs_server: bad sendreply" back to the servers console window. setting rsize=2000, causes even two nexts to catch fire reporting more bad sendreplys, and other goodies which cause the client to hang up altogether. I have reported this to NeXT, though their first reply was to uncoil my thinet cable (?) anybody else have any ideas? -- ________________________________________________________________________ / Anyone whois capable of getting themselves made President / / should on no account be allowed to do the job. -HHGG / / john@ukpr.uky.edu | soward@s.ms.uky.edu | sysjohn@ukcc.uky.edu / /_______________________________________________________________________/
