villy@UUNET.UU.NET (Will Hartung) (05/03/91)
G'day all,
I've just picked up a 'station for the house, and have a couple of
questions.
1) Is it possible for me to take a generic 1.44 floppy and 'tar' data off
of my SCO box at work and be able to read it on my 'station?
2) A friend has a Sun 3/50, and we were wondering if it is possible to
compile code on his machine and bring the binaries over to mine.
(Being as he has a 700 Meg Fuji and a C compiler and I don't...yet)
I'm talking "generic" utilities like Gnu tar, kermit, perl maybe...
3) If I can't use those binaries, is there a way for someone without direct
access to the net to get some of the binaries I mentioned above for my
machine? (I've only got access to uunet, and I don't know if they have
NeXT binaries floating around up there or not).
Thanks for any information,
Will
Please E-Mail, I'll summarize.

P.S. This is coming through mail to ohio-state. If you can read this, then
I guess "Hope it gets there" is redundant...
