[comp.sys.next] NeXT wanna-haves

mcgredo@prism.cs.orst.edu (Don McGregor) (05/03/91)

As long as we're bombarding NeXT with things we'd like to have...

How about the equivilent of the SmallTalk SortedCollection class
for the appkit? Something you could just toss an object into, and
have magically maintained in sorted order by some arbitrary key?

A third party could do it too, but this seems so universally useful
a part of a programmer's toolkit that NeXT should add it to their
  standard distribution.

Don McGregor |"Books ask difficult questions, but don't give
mcgredo@prism.cs.orst.edu| cars or Caribean cruises for right answers."

I don't know if this addresses your needs, but search for "Hash" under
DigitalLibrarian and look at the HashTable object.
