[comp.sys.next] House calls too!

dejnsen@caen.engin.umich.edu (Nik Anthony Gervae) (05/10/91)

I just wanted to extend a hearty public thanks to Vidas Neverauskas, the
local NeXT SE here in Ann Arbor, for helping me with my internal drive--
he took it with him and rebuilt it in one day, and when that didn't work,
had a replacement ordered, and two days later came to my apartment and
installed it! Now that's service! (Even if a friend says it's only because
they're not popular yet. ;-)

In the process of getting this mess fixed, I happened to lose some files.
Could anyone send me articles 16400-16499 and 16800-16899 of this newsgroup?
I'll be ever so grateful. Now I've had my second lesson in backing up early
and often, even if I don't think I can afford it--I can't afford not to.

And last, in article 17507, Dave Tenny wrote:

Believe it or not, I had similar problems with my PLI CD-ROM drive when
the termination dipswitches were in the position labeled 'on'--Vidas told me
to flip 'em all the other way and my problems vanished (not before I lost a
few files due to a stupid mistake; oh well). You might want to try this if
