[comp.sys.next] Not-FAQs

schell@ebony.eecs.ucdavis.edu (Stephan Schell) (05/12/91)

I did not see these questions in the last FAQ posting or in the last
seven hundred articles to comp.sys.next. Forgive me if they have been
answered repeatedly.

I am strongly considering buying a NeXTstation and would like to know
a few things before I try to decide.

1. Does the NeXT printer handle legal and/or envelope size paper?
2. Does it support manual feed?
3. Are there cheaper toner cartridges available than the ones sold by NeXT?
If so, how reliable are they, how much do they cost, and where can they
   be purchased?
4. Can the NeXTstation be purchased with zero RAM and no hard drive (e.g.,
with the intention of using 4 Meg SIMMS, 80ns, normally sold for Macs
and buying a 600 or 1200 Meg third-party drive)? If so, can such a
system be fully configured from the Release 2.0 (or 2.1?) floppies set?

Answers can be either posted or emailed to me. If (latter && !former)
I will post a brief summary.

My, my, I'm feeling mechanical. 'Scuse, please...

Thanks,
Steve
