I'm trying to get a Perl binary onto me slab. Of course, I can't compile it from the source, so that's out. I don't think the binary is floating around anyhere on the net, at least I didn't see it in the Purdue server index, and I've only got email access to that. So, I was wondering if some kind soul (silicon or carbon based, I've got no preference :) would be willing to mail it to me or maybe be able to get it up to someplace on the uunet machine so I could UUCP down to my SCO box. Then I could DOSitize it to floppy, and drag it home that way. I'm not real picky as to which version of Perl, just as long as it runs. I couldn't tell you the difference between the versions anyhow. The real goal here is to get something I can write little snippets -o- code in without going through the fuss and bother of getting the C compiler. I've been working in awk, but my general impression is that perl is a little more general purpose than awk. Of course, I could be wrong. Anyway, thanx in advance. Will (uunet!la4gen!villy)
