In the discussion of splitting the group, a couple ideas keeps coming up which the FAQ can not address (it is getting pretty massive!). However to have them work we need volunteers to do them on a regular basis. If you wish to volunteer for one of these let me know via email. Welcome to comp.sys.next: This is a posting that would happen once a week. Essentially giving guidelines about this group, where information comes from, when... etc.. It is a document that requires care to draft, but once written will probably under go very few changes... The person volunteering for this would be responsible for making sure it gets written, and posting it once a week. NeXT week: I get requests from people to put in a blurb for their events in the FAQ. I have to decline given how big the FAQ is getting. However it would be cool if someone would post every friday a schedule of NeXT related events for the following week (assuming the stuff makes it through the net in a two day time span, it may even be timely). The calendar would be broken down into geographical regions. This chore would take lots of time and good organization skills. NeXT User Groups Directory: Someone is maintaining a list of User groups around the country. This is a great service, which I hope will continue. It would be nice if this got posted every so often. In addition to having these on comp.sys.next, it would be nice if they were kept on the archive servers. pasc -- Pascal Chesnais, Research Specialist, Electronic Publishing Group Media Laboratory, E15-351, 20 Ames Street, Cambridge, Ma, 02139 (617) 253-0311 email: lacsap@plethora.media.mit.edu (NeXT)
