There have been several articles about rusting cars and car washing during the winter. Well here's something to think about: many car washes recycle the water they use and you are simply spraying your beloved wheels with used water. Maybe they filter out some large rocks and sticks, but I bet they don't filter out all the road salt, engine degreaser, whitewall tire cleaner, etc., that ends up being washed off the Studebaker in front of you! Around here last summer there was a water shortage and car washing was prohibited by all places except those that recycled their water. Needless to say, they all seemed to be open. I suppose that they are the only option for some people, but don't believe that pure mountain spring water is what your wheels are being bathed in :-) 1 1 1 1 2 1 Doug Williams 1 3 3 1 AT&T Bell Labs 1 4 6 4 1 Reading, PA 1 5 10 10 5 1 mhuxl!daw1 1 6 15 20 15 6 1 "With regard to errors in general, either falling under the denomination of mental, typographical, or accidental, we are conscious of being able to point out a greater number than any critic whatever."
