I have found that this problem only occurs when I use tcsh as
my default shell.

In a former posting someone said, this is an error, to fix it, get back
the binaries of login and rlogin of 1.0.

Alex gave me a better solution by email:

>EPS at sutro.sfsu.edu explained the problem to me.  Apparently
>the new rlogind was compiled with the DEBUG flag on.  There is
