[comp.sys.next] Problem with Installer Program under NS 2.0

I'm having some problems with the Installer program running under NeXTstep 2.0
when using floppies. I seem to remember some comments about a bug in the
Installer that's cured by the 2.1 upgrade, but can't remember what the
symptoms were.

My symptoms are that when you start up the Installer on the first floppy
disk of a multi-disk set and ask to install the package, it merrily checks
all the files and then just updates the file

	/NextLibrary/Packages/ThirdParty/<package>.pkg

and claims that it's completed! I'm pretty sure the data is correctly written
to the floppies since I can read the contents of the several floppies into
directories in /tmp, then "cat" all the <package>.tar.Z.i (i=1, 2, ...) files
together into a single <package>.tar.Z file and then run the Installer
successfully from the new <package>.pkg directory containing this .tar.Z file.

I first tried creating this package on floppies several weeks ago and it all
worked ok, but since then I've added many more files and now it fails as
described above.

Is there a known work-around (e.g. decreasing the size of the "chunks" on each
floppy) or must I resort to upgrading to NS2.1 ? Actually, it's not me I'm
really worried about, since I'm generating the package in the first place, it's
the people who subsequently get the software and try to install it from
the floppies. Having to tell them to copy the contents of all disks & cat the
files together is less than slick.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and/or comments.
