This is driving me nuts... A Fujitsu 2266S loaded with 2.1 software, but I can't seem to boot from it. There *is* a boot block (I can see it by reading the raw partition), and everything works fine if I boot sdmach from a floppy disk but override the rootdev= setting. The test machine is an "out of the box" Color station (a/k/a "doorstop" due to a Purchasing goof, but it _is_ getting a RAM upgrade, that being cheaper than NeXT's restocking charge), although I've also tried the same disk on an N1100 with more or less the same results. I asked about this at last week's BANG meeting, and Izumi suggested I change the read-ahead cache jumper. This had no effect. I'm stumped. Ideas? (Or any NeXToids care to interpret the cryptic numbers below?) -=EPS=- ------- NeXT ROM Monitor 2.3 (v64) CPU MC68040 25 MHz, memory 100 nS Backplane slot #0 Ethernet address: 0:0:f:0:8f:93 Memory size: 12MB Testing the FPU, SCC, SCSI, Enet, RTC, Timer, Event Counter, Sound Out Starting Extended Self Test...
