I got about five or six responses to my original post. Some people correctly pointed out that what is 'worthwhile' depends a lot on how one uses his NeXT. I am not a unix guru, but I have a working knowledge of unix and experience in a variety of languages. I don't know a thing about Interface Builder or Objective-C, so any further pointers in that direction would be appreciated. Here's what people recommended: Languages: Scheme is available from golem.ps.usi.edu, ftp/pub/NeXt (along with Xnext and some other things) f2c was recommended, but the site was unspecified. Plotting and Graphics: from cs.orst.edu in pub/next/sources: graphics/NeXTGIF.tar.Z graphics/ViewGif2.tar.Z plotting/Rotation.tar.Z Documentation: NeXTAnswers_Mar_91.tar.Z NextStep_Concepts.tar.Z SndMusicDSP_Concepts.tar.Z and I understand there is an Interface Builder tutorial floating around somewhere. Text Stuff: /pub/next/2.0-release/source/Emacs2.0 (an emacs front-end) Games: from cs.orst.edu in pub/next/sources: /games/Tetris.tar.Z others (unspecified sites): Boinkout BlastApp Reversi Misc.: from cs.orst.edu in pub/next/sources: screen/screendim.shar.Z util/SCSIInquirer1.3.tar.Z
