I have become increasingly interested in seeing some hypertext capabilities on the NeXT and an idea just occurred to me that I _hope_ is not at all original, i.e., I hope someone is working on this (NeXT, perhaps?). Would it be possible to create a link utility that could be incorporated into the Services menu item that would recognize all open applications that contain text (and ideally image or sound) as potential nodes in a system-wide hypertext system and allow you to create links on the fly as the need arose? It _seems_ like I recall either hearing or reading somewhere that NeXT was considering incorporating such functionality in a future release (3.0?) But I am not at all sure of this. So I have the following questions: First, does anyone know if NeXT is working on something like this? Or, if they are not, is anyone else doing this? Or, finally, if no one is actually trying to do this, is it feasible? What would it entail?
