[comp.sys.next] DSPwrap debugging under Bug56

rochberg-david@CS.YALE.EDU (David Rochberg) (06/07/91)

What is a good paradigm for using Bug56 to debug DSPwraps? I would
like to compile my DSPwrap with a DEBUG_HALT in it and then be able to
bring Bug56 up to look at things. What little documentation there is
seems to suggest that I should start up Bug56, then run my program,
and then use dspabort to wrest control from my program to Bug56. When
I try this, I cannot execute my program--It complains that it can't
get a hold of the DSP (Which makes sense, since Bug56 has it). What
should I be doing differently? I am running on an 040 cube w/SR 2.1
if that makes a difference.
I would also appreciate any other pointers to documentation about
DSPwrap. The "* The man page and brief mention in the Music Kit and
Array Processing chapters of the Concepts manual are the only existing
documentation" under the "problems" section of the 2.0 RelNotes is
very little consolation.
