I'd just love to take advantage of the '040 to do some serious ray tracing, but I've been having trouble getting a) a ray-tracer to work correctly, and b) finding a ray-tracer that writes out into a format that is somewhat easy to display on the megapixel... I've played around with dbk trace and RayShade a little, but what I'd really like would be something that directly outputs TIFF files or something straightforward like that... -So- if anyone out there who is raytracing with something that they like (NeXT interface not required) could make any suggestions/give me any pointers on where I can get a ray-tracer that works nicely on the NeXT, I'd greatly appreciate it... matt pharr@cs.yale.edu
