[comp.sys.next] FrameMaker -- when is release 3 due out?

jmann@vineland.pubs.stratus.com (Jim Mann) (06/10/91)

Has anyone heard any news, or even rumors, as to when the NeXT version of
FrameMaker 3.0 will be available. I saw a demo of it a couple of months
back and it looks great. Frame can finally do tables!! At the demo,
the Frame rep. said he expected 3.0 to be available in July. July is
almost here, and I haven't even heard any beta rumors. Any word would
be appreciated. The version 2 that works under operating system release
2 has a couple of annoying bugs, and also, of course, doesn't do tables, so
I'm anxious to get 3.0

Not since Cromwell's troops, their puritan sensibilities offended by beauty,
went around smashing decorative art in churches has there been an act
of folly comparable to the abandonment and destruction of Forbes Field,
   the Pirates' home for generations.

Frame told our purchasing people a while back that it
would be August or so (real helpful, eh?), and that if
we would accept 2.x now, they would send a free upgrade
when the happy day arrived. Such is the biz we all know
and love, owning and nourishing computers, while handing
over decent bucks to people who may have sterling intentions
but never quite seem to do what they say they will when
they said they would. Against that, there is perhaps no
impatience on this earth quite to equal the computer maven
waiting for the Next Good Thing. :-)
