'News', the pretty-well-functioning newsreader (but not newsposter) is now available in source form on cs.orst.edu (in /pub/next/submissions for now, hopefully it'll be moved to /pub/next/sources). Note that 'Newsgrazer', by Jason Adams (at NeXT), is a much more functional program. I've made 'News' sources available for people that want to customize their newsreader, and as yet-anther-example-program. (Not to say there aren't some ugly spots, but at least they have comments like /* this is ugly */.) I'd like to see the Net community finish 'News' and make it into the world-class newsreader I dreamed it would be. (Back when I was young and foolish and had lots of time to work on projects for free.) But, in any case, maybe some people can learn a bit here and there from the source, even if it's just how NOT to write certain things. -william shipley PS: Stay tuned for my next effort, "Omni". It's a multi-player networked real-time programmable graphical dungeon game.
