You know, I've had such fun gee-whizzing at how much cleaner and faster the '040 bangs on Csound and Cmix that I've hardly had urge one to hook up the MIDI interface [and, to be honest, it only depresses me to not be able to fire up MAX on a NeXT. Kind of an avoidance thing, I guess]. You guessed it. I seem to have fallen prey to the gotcha listed in the NeXT answers on the new serial port stuff. My trusty Opcode Studio Plus 2 interface seems to not work very well. Not at all, actually. You should see that amber LED hum, though.... So, the question is: Do I have to shell out the bucks to a whole 'nother umptyhundreddollar Studio 3 interface before I can use it? Is there a thriftier solution that you '040 owners have located that I'm unaware of?
