[comp.sys.next] NewsGrazer

After using News Grazer since it came out, I must say it's hard to go back to
anything else. There are a few problems, however, and I'm wondering if
anyone else experiences them too.

First, it seems to really mess up the .newsrc file if you want to use a
tty-based news reader (unfortunately, it *is* rather difficult to fire up
NewsGrazer when you're logged in by modem). This only happens when you
actually read something, of course. I have it set to mark the messages as
read once I read them, if that makes any difference.

Second, it would be nice if it understood the ^l thing. Makes reading
messages with possible spoilers easier. Perhaps a ^l would activate some
sort of -more- button?

Great program, in any event.

Maybe newsgrazer can warn you when you're about to post to more than
one newsgroup? For that matter, rn and nn should warn you as well.

Alas, this won't help the poor comp.sys.amiga.advocacy users, seeing as they
can't run NewsGrazer...

A question re NewsGrazer: it will post articles just fine when I'm logged in
under "root", but it won't create articles when I'm logged in under the
"me" account. Any suggestions? I'm using C-News, if that helps.

I noticed that the /usr/spool/news" directories were not writeable by
"other", so I changed the profile for "me" to add to the "news" group,
but it didn't help.
