[net.auto] Plymouth Caravelle

garth@inuxd.UUCP (Garth Johnson) (03/06/86)

This past week I had a chance to take a close look at a Plymouth
Caravelle. It seemed to be a well equipped, reasonably priced
car. Has anyone had any experience with this car? Good or Bad,
let me have it.

		Thanks

I've just purchased an '86 reliant which as far as I can tell is on the same
chassis. It seems good so far, and like you said for the price it certainly
is well equipped, (Reliants run about $11K fully loaded.

I'll post back if there are things that I start to notice.

p.s. I got the 2.5 liter. Even with the air on it seems to have no problem
getting going. This is actually a rebored version of the 2.5 with a few
refinements, the most important is the balanced shaft which gives it a much
smoother idle than the 2.2.

Also this is the only engine chrysler makes (Excp V8 in the big cars) which
gives the mechanics a chance to learn it. Very servicable, plugs, oil filter
etc. very reachable. Quite a clean layout.
