in today's Wall Street Journal there is a story about an agreement in principle between IBM, Apple, and Motorola. in this agreement IBM will licence to Motorola the risc chips ( RIOS ) and IBM would get help from Apple to develop a standard "object oriented" operating system. Motorola would be able to sell the risc chips to other companies as well. this is just an agreement in principle, with the signing of the agreement to take place later. i though this wld be interesting for all those people hoping for a next computer with a risc chip. if IBM won't port NeXTstep to RS 6000 maybe NeXT can use these risc chips. what do you think? stef
