OPEN DAY FOR INDUSTRY AT HUMAN COMMUNICATION RESEARCH CENTRE

		EDINBURGH UNIVERSITY SEPTEMBER 25TH 1990

HCRC is an Economic and Social Research Council funded
Interdisciplinary Research Centre which conducts basic research into
human information processing, focussing on linguistic communication.
It is concerned both with how people process information and how
information technology can be designed to aid in human-human and
human-machine communication.

HCRC also has a remit to transfer its basic research results to
Industry, Commerce and Government, all producers and consumers of IT.
This Open Day marks the formation of HCRC's Affiliates Club.
Potential Users of the research will be able to see accounts and
demonstrations of HCRC's research and meet its staff of researchers.

There will be a panel discussion to provide opportunity for interested
parties to have an input into the direction which HCRC's Affiliates
Scheme takes in encouraging technology transfer.
