A random completion led me to this function today, which is
undocumented. My best guess from looking at its behavior (not the
sources) is that it tells you the full pathname of the file you'd get
if you tried to load some file (i.e. it looks at the load-path). Seems
like a useful enough function to be documented somewhere.

(which .) isn't an function from the Emacs distribution; you must have
loaded a package that defined it or someone at your site (jr?) put it
in to site-load or such when building Emacs.
