[gnu.utils.bug] gnu tar 1.05 truncate file

yhe@zippy.eecs.umich.edu (Youda He) (05/16/89)

On building perl 2.18 ftped from tut, I get part aa to af and use the following
command: cat perl.tar*a? | zcat | gnutar xf - &
to create a perl directory, in the directory t I noticed one file being
truncated, (op.flip) since it gives error on TEST. I did it again replace
gnutar by tar (on sun4), the file is ok from tar. The problem is repeated
once to make sure the gnutar did truncated the file. I don't know if there
are other files being truncated.
gnutar is compiled by gcc 1.35.
