I have been having problems with GNU ar on our sparcserver, encountering segmentation violations regularly. I tracked down one problem to strcmp being called on a null pointer in two locations, and corrected that, but there are other segmentation faults where addresses are out of range. Has anybody encountered this, and if so, how was it corrected? Any help would be much appreciated. ar on this machine is about 1/10th the speed of GNU ar.
