I have found some bugs in the MSDOS version of GAWK 2.10 beta. The problem appears to concern freeing of field memory which shouldn't be freed. The freed stuff appears to be in the $0 area so MSC routines insert garbage into $0 and probably corrupt the heap. I have tried mailing a copy of the problematic awk program and data direct to US, but so far have failed. The addresses I have tried are arnold@emoryu1.cc.emory.edu smsdpg!seg@uunet.uu.net using various different relays here in the UK, but all without success. A postal system where you have to know the POSTOFFICE address seems fairly useless to me. Does anyone know how to send bug reports to GNU developers from the UK. Or even better how to get GNU software for MSDOS that is more up to date. Robin Becker
