I'm posting this for someone without access to news: --------------------------- platform: SUN-3/60 os: SUNOS 4.0.1 I have a medium sized makefile with a large number of variables defined (258). When I run the makefile it attempts to rebuild my targets but gets an error from execve indicating too many parameters have been sent. If I comment out some of my variable definitions then the problem goes away and the shell is exec'd correctly. Sometimes /bin/sh or /bin/cc complain about the number of parameters instead of execve. In any event it seems to be directly related to either the number of variables defined or the amount of text stored in the variables. Possible memory overwrite problem? Thanks for your time.
