[gnu.gdb.bug] gdb 2.8 dumps core on `x/0'.

I type:
% gdb

It says:
GDB 2.8, etc, etc.
(gdb)

And I say:
x/0

And it says:
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

This is on a Sun 3 running 3.4, compiled with gcc 1.28.
