[gnu.gdb.bug] xgdb and gcc 1.32

I was able to compile xgdb (with gcc 1.32 and X11R3) with
no problems (after I added -lXmu to the Makefile). But it
then core dumps on the next command, just as John Schultz reports
for X11R2. I also get the ``X Toolkit Warning'' about type
converter for String to EditMode.

This is on a Sun 3 running 3.4.
