This isn't a bug report, but I'm hoping that it will reach the right people. I have a need for gdb on a Sequent Symmetry (a 386 mp) running Dynix, a BSD derived system. I've made many of the necessary modifications to the i386 configuration files, but am now down to the nitty-gritty stuff in dep.c, and I'm not enough of a 386 or BSD expert to know what really needs to be done - some of the register names aren't in the corresponding Sequent BSD and i386 header files, and I know very little about the calling sequence and stack frames produced by the Sequent compiler, i.e. how to appropriately modify the USG-style existing 386 code. Since I really don't have the time to figure all of this out, I'm curious if anyone else with more expertise in this area is either already working on the problem or interested in getting involved. A version of gdb 3.1, with support for the Sequent Symmetry (under DYNIX), can be retrieved by anonymous ftp from: sics.se (192.16.123.90) Most of the patches for g++ support has also been added to this version. -- Johan Widen SICS, PO Box 1263, S-164 28 KISTA, SWEDEN Internet: jw@sics.se Tel: +46 8 752 15 32 Ttx: 812 61 54 SICS S Fax: +46 8 751 72 30
