[gnu.gdb.bug] remote: are function calls broken in 3.3?

I have found that all remote function calls now return zero.  By
function calls I mean something like this:

(gdb) p returns_one ()
$4 = 0
(gdb)

I don't know if it's a bug I introduced or if it's just broken in 3.3.
Any pointers appreciated.
