[gnu.gdb.bug] GDB 3.3 on a Convex C1

ericb@libdev.dartmouth.edu (Eric Bivona) (10/24/89)

I've built gdb 3.3 for a Convex C1 here on campus. Unfortunately,
when I try to use it, it always fails when loading the symbol table,
with the message:

Invalid symbol data: bad string table offset: 385

This happens when I try to debug a small program compiled by gcc (1.36),
the same small program compiled by the Convex C compiler (derived from
4.2 pcc, I think), as well as when I try to debug gdb with gdb. The
offset given is always 385. If anybody has any ideas, or seen this
before, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks in advanced!
