[gnu.gdb.bug] GDB 3.5 vs. HP9000 S330 HP-UX 6.5

jjd@ALEXANDER.BBN.COM (James J Dempsey) (02/09/90)

I just compiled gdb 3.5 on an HP 9000 Series 330 running HP-UX 6.5
(we'll be running 7.0 soon). I used "config.gdb hp9k320" and compiled
with HP's cc. It compiled just fine with no warnings but whenever I
run it on a program, it says "<program> has no symbol-table; symbols
discarded".

I don't know anything about the differences between different HP
hardware. Is there something inherently broken about the 330 so
that gdb compiled with hp9k320 doesn't work properly w.r.t. symbol
tables?

If so, does anyone have diffs for gdb to run on the 330? We're all
sick of using cdb here.

In case it helps, the command "uname -a" returns this:
HP-UX syseng7 6.5 A 9000/330 syseng7

Thanks,
