#N:uiucdcs:9500006:000:1013 uiucdcs!emrath Sep 18 03:08:00 1982 I had a ring of see invisible that was clearly identified as such by a scroll of identify, I was wearing it, and was attacked by an invisible invisible stalker. I think this was a bug and might be explained as follows. I put the ring on when I reached level 16, but one of the first things I found was a potion of "hotdog" juice. Naturally, I took the ring off and quaffed the juice. I had no trouble seeing I's on level 16. Before jumping to level 17, I put the ring back on. Just before dying on level 17 at the hands(?) of a Xorn, I was also attacked by an I, but I sure couldn't see it. Suspicion: Jumping downstairs after quaffing a juice causes special sight privileges to be removed, without checking to see if you are wearing the ring of see I. If this ever happens, try taking the ring off and putting it back on and see if this works (assuming you live that long). I didn't get all this figured out at the time, but I doubt that I will ever put that ring on until after jumping downstairs again.
