system: DEC ds3100 os: ultrix 2.1 (3.0 available if needed) compiler: gcc 1.36 from prep sources: gcc (xtar) and g++ (ztar) from trix.ai.mit.edu on Monday 8 jan config: config.g++ I pulled fresh sources for gcc 1.36.91 and g++ 1.36.2 off of trix.ai.mit.edu. Modifying the makefile to change the installation path, remove the "-g" options, and enable the first of the two COFF defines, the compilation proceeded smoothly until attempting ld.o .
