It has come to my attention that the site I receive my news feed from carries all of the gnu.* newsgroups but one. I know I should talk to them directly about this (I assume the omission is unintentional), but there may be other sites that don't realize that they carry only a subset of the gnu newsgroups. Unless I receive convincing objections (e-mail only, please!), or unless someone else does it first, I will send out (one time only) a checkgroups control message (Distribution: gnu) based on the next monthly "Alternative Newsgroup Hierarchies" message that Gene Spafford posts to news.lists. Since he seems to post them on the last day of the month, that means you can expect to see my checkgroups message on March 1st or 2nd. :: Jeff Makey Department of Tautological Pleonasms and Superfluous Redundancies Department Disclaimer: Logicon doesn't even know we're running news. This was brought to our attention the other day, right after I created gnu.g++.lib.bug. I intend to create a checkgroups myself which should go out over the weekend. --Karl
