[gnu.config] Oops

tar@ksuvax1.cis.ksu.edu (Tim Ramsey) (07/26/89)

In article <2369@deimos.cis.ksu.edu> I posted a newgroup for
gnu.misc.discuss. It went out with a Distribution: of "gnu" instead
of "ksu" (the local ORGDISTRIB).

Oops. How rude of me.

I've canceled it. Hopefully it won't do more than raise a few eyebrows.

It arrived here at a leaf node in Holland. You should better issue
a rmgroup, because a cancel doesn't have any effect on already arrived
newgroup messages. Only I don't read them in control anymore...

Nah... I don't think I'll issue a rmgroup. That might do more than
raise a few eyebrows.

Oh, and a cancel does have an effect on already-processed control messages
(like a newgroup) -- it prevents its further spread. I think the newgroup
got to you via a quicker route.
