I grabbed the most recent gnuchess.tar.Z off prep this morning, and brought it over to a Sun 3/60 running SunOS 4.0.1 and X.V11R3. After finally making Xchess compile (I had to change "-lX" to be "-loldX -lX11", I tried the following things from the "Xchess" directory: xchess -p ../gnuchessr - seems to work, but I want to play the computer xhess -c -p ../gnuchessr - draws all the pieces but the very last white rook, and then hangs xchess -c -p ../gnuchess - lets me make a move, then dumps core with a seg. fault. What am I doing wrong? Please respond directly to me; I'm not on this list. --Dave

Davy, If you see something in GNU chess that you think is fixable, please do! We depend on GNU's users to help build a better GNUworld. Stuart

I am attempting to run Xchess on my sun 386i. I compiled the program and gnuchess, when I try to run xchess, the board comes up and the program hangs, any help would be appreaciated.
