After receiving the nth letter objecting to "the article I posted" and suggesting that a personal response would have been more ap- propriate, I have decided that I'll have to set things straight publicly. I did not post the thing! It was a personal letter, which the recipient forwarded to the net for no apparent reason and without my consent. Further, he did nothing to indicate to people that not I but he had been the poster, apparently in an effort to deceive you all into thinking I had posted it. If you feel, as I do, that it didn't belong on the net, mail to him (berkeley!leres, I think; I didn't bother to save his stuff), not to me! I have written him asking for an apology on the net, so one hopes this idiocy will be straightened out soon. Tim Maroney unc!tim
