Hello all. I'm having some problems getting gnuchess up and running on a Pyramid 9825 under OSx 4.4. We've installed X11R4 from MIT, and had few problems with X applications. To get gnuchess installed I had to install, bison, gcc and then compile gnuchess with gcc. No complaints, all seemed to go well, except gnuchess doesn't want to work. The curses mode guy just sits there, stuck in the scanw. The xchess version dies almost immediately, but can be coaxed into putting a window up if you step it through sdb. ( It seemed to get further along without uwm running). At the moment I'm unsure if the problems are in gcc (gcc-1.37.1), X, or gnuchess. Any ideas out there on just what I've hosed? Appreciate any thoughts. $sdb xchess No core image *exit:b 0x2d5c0 (exit) b *r xchess Breakpoint at exit: address 0x2d5c0 *t exit() _XDefaultIOError() _XIOError() _XWaitForWritable() _XSend() SendXYImage() PutImageRequest() PutSubImage() XPutImage() XCreateBitmapFromData() win_drawpiece:F15() [window.c] board_drawall:F15() [board.c] main:F15() [xchess.c] pc: 0x1c; args: () *q -- uunet!swbatl!adams or adams@swbatl.sbc.com Tom Adams: 314-235-7459: Southwestern Bell Telephone Advanced Technology Lab BOOKS WANTED: pre-1930 radio, electrical & scientific topics
