GNUS 3.10 is now in beta-test here in Fujitsu lab. The new version
will be distributed in next or next next week unless any troubles, I
hope.

GNUS 3.10 will have the following new features:

+ New implementation of KILL file
+ Search commands for articles by regexp
+ Commands executing a command on articles which matches regexp
+ Rmail saver is added.
+ Improved RMAIL digest reader.
+ Improved parent search command.
+ Improved sorter of Subject mode buffer.
+ Subject mode buffer is customizable.
+ Default article save name is customizable.
+ Private directory support.
+ External TCP/IP support.

User visible and important changes from 3.8 are:

(1) KILL file format is completely different from that of 3.8. New
KILL file consists of Emacs lisp programs which will be evaluated in
Subject mode buffer. Of course, lisp functions for easy to use are
provided.

(2) Variable gnus-server-host is renamed to gnus-nntp-server. You have
to replace all occurrences of it.

(3) Variable gnus-force-nntp is now obsolete. Instead,
gnus-nntp-service is introduced. Its meaning is a little bit different
from gnus-force-nntp.

(4) Many internal variables are renamed, removed, or added. You may
have to rewrite you hooks which uses them.
