Have received gnus 3.10 5-part shar files, bytecompiled gnus, nntp, and nnspool, meta-x loaded gnus.elc, and then did meta-x gnus. The title header comes up ok, gnus reads my ~/.newsrc file for a while and then aborts with the following message: wrong type argument, stringp, nil Any ideas? tnx for any help you can give... --Steve Grout Steve Grout, MCC CAD Program | Box 200195, Austin, TX 78720 ARPA: grout@mcc.com | Phone: [512] 338-3516 UUCP: {uunet,harvard,gatech,pyramid}!cs.utexas.edu!milano!cadillac!grout

I just installed 3.10--very quick, worked the first time. Maybe something got mangled in your copy? Roy -- Roy Turner AI Group, School of ICS, Georgia Tech, Atlanta GA 30332 Internet: royt@pravda.ics.gatech.edu or royt@gatech.edu uucp: ...!{decvax,hplabs,ihnp4,linus,rutgers,seismo}!gatech!royt

I had the same problem and fixed it by setting the gnu-nntp-service variable to another value. The only difference to your problem was a value not-equal to nil. I hope it helps.
