I've never tried teleporting away from an F, but I did try to go down stairs once. It worked (I was standing on the stairs), but I was still held! I had a staff of light, so I lit up the room and there was the F halfway across the room! I threw things at it (luckily, it was in line with me) until it died. Then I was free. (This was rogue 3.6, needless to say I haven't tried the experiment again.) =Spencer

I'm pretty sure that I have successfully teleported away from violet fungi on rogue 3.6. The one time I happened to be standing on the stairs and went down them (while being held) was a disaster ! I went down a level, was still being held, but there was no F any more. I guess it was still on the level above me. Any way, I didn't have any interesting scrolls (like teleport or genocide). I shot everything I had in every direction, exhausted my staff of striking, ate up all of my food, and still just hung there. Thought I would starve to death, but two or three monsters came in and the last one finally killed me. Bill Dietrich houxj!wapd
