[gnu.emacs.gnus] big hairy GNUS bug

wisner@mica.Berkeley.EDU (Bill Wisner) (07/05/89)

In comp.sources.bugs, there was an article with this subject:

Subject: Bug in csh (history, "!a%100s"), Report and Fix.

In the status line of the *Subject* window, that appeared as:

Bug in csh (history, "!ano process

At least, that looks like a bug to me.

I'm not the NRA either.

I'm running GNUS 3.12 and didn't have any such problem.

I'm also running GNUS 3.12 and had exactly the problem that Bill describes. My
guess is that since the subject contains a '%100s' the buffer's process status
is being displayed in the modeline by mistake. Perhaps each '%' in the subject
should be quoted by doubling it before placing into the modeline?
