The following article caused an error while trying to select the gnu.emacs.gnus newsgroup. I got this error message: "Symbol's value as variable is void: From", and was effectively locked out of the newsgroup. I had to catch-up, then have someone else mail me the offending article. He was on the same machine, but didn't have this behavior. Any ideas why this may have happened? I notice that there is no "From:" header line, but why wouldn't my colleague have had the same prolem? ||| Article starts here VVV ================================================================ Path: cbnewsh!att!pacbell!lll-winken!brutus.cs.uiuc.edu!apple!oliveb!mipos3!omepd!toms >From: toms@omews44.intel.com (Tom Shott) Newsgroups: gnu.emacs.gnus Subject: Wanted: Auto Archiving and Patching Message-ID: <TOMS.89Oct9185502@omews44.intel.com> Date: 9 Oct 89 22:55:02 GMT Sender: news@omepd.UUCP Distribution: gnu Organization: OME, INTeL Corp., Hillsboro, Oregon Lines: 11 I just installed GNUS version 3.12 and I love it. The sorting and indexing let me quickly read the postings I am interested in. The only hard work now is keeping up with file archiving and patchs. Can someone post some KILL file examples or programs that automatically archive src files and patches from the standard source groups such as comp.sources.unix ? -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tom Shott INTeL, 2111 NE 25th Ave., Hillsboro, OR 97123, (503) 696-4520 toms@omews44.intel.com OR toms%omews44.intel.com@csnet.relay.com INTeL..
